i guess you can’t win em all….

I just realized I never wrote a blog about the game yesterday…

Noone ever said it was gonna be easy to get to the world series, and everyone has to lose sometime…

But, the Phils played good yesterday and did make an attempt to come back, and that’s all that matters in my book :)

In other exciting Phillies news, they are winning as we speak with a score of 7-5, thanks to Shane Victorino tying it and Matt Stairs crushing the ball for the lead.    It’s the bottom of the 8th inning, with JC Romero pitching….

LET’S GO PHILS!!!!!

2-0 never sounded sweeter!!!

….And we’re at it again!!! :D

Who’d have thought Brett Myers would be the hitting hero??? Not me, but it’s all good, I’ll take it!!!

In the 8-5 victory last night, Myers had 3 RBIs and went 3 for 3 in his at-bats. His pitching wasn’t too shabby, either…

While the hitting was superb, as well as the pitching, maybe there was a higher power helping us out…for those who don’t know, Charlie Manuel’s mother and Shane Victorino’s grandmother passed away early Friday. Maybe it’s just me, but I really believe in this, that they helped this team to an important victory, and helped to keep them strong throughout.

Shane and Charlie, my thoughts and prayers are with your families<3

So, Philly goes to the west coast with a commanding 2-0 lead…these next couple games out there should be interesting!!!

They play tomorrow night, at 822…LET’S GO PHILS!!!

R.I.P–
June Manuel & Irene Victorino

yessss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As if I needed another reason to love Chase Utley..haha….

The Phils come on top after a nail-biter, 3-2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was the greatest game I’ve seen in a long time…and that includes the 20-run game I went to on Memorial Day!!! :)

After Furcal’s error in the sixth, Victorino just seemed like he was destined to score.  And then Chase came up to bat. And on the first pitch, knocked it out of the park. Now, I’m a HUGE Chase Utley fan..HUGE..seriously…and after seeing that home run, I couldn’t sit down…then two batters later, Pat the Bat put us on top by bombing yet another bad pitch by Lowe. Hamels pitched fabulously, and it showed. Like everyone said, it was gonna be a pitching showdown. And it was, only for the Dodgers, it didn’t turn out as well as they’d hoped.

And so, the Fightin’s keep it coming today, at 435….it, again, should be a nail-biter, and always fun to watch :)
Also, the Red Sox and the Rays start their fight to represent the AL at 837..that, as well, should be fun to watch.
LET’S GO PHILS!!!!

tonight’s(!!!!!), and the rest of the series, breakdown.

Tonight’s the night!!!!! I’ve been waiting all week for this series to start, and it’s finally here!!!!!
Even better? Home field advantage!!! Well, for the first two games, at least…if it goes to seven, then we’ll have 4 at home.

What does home field advantage mean, exactly? As good ol’ Uncle Charlie says…

“I think a home-field advantage becomes an advantage to us in two
ways. I think our fans, I think
it’s very noisy. I think our players, they like to play for our fans,
especially when all the energy is in the ballpark. I think that
definitely plays a part in it.  And the fact that we would have four games here, if it
happens to go to seven games. I think that definitely helps us. I think
you’re going to see two very balanced teams. And I don’t see no reason
why we can’t be the winners, though.”

The one element that everyone seems to agree on in this series, that will win it for that certain team, is pitching.  Pitching, when used correctly, is an extremely dangerous weapon.

The series matchups (through game 4):
Lowe v. Hamels
Billingsley v. Myers
Moyer v. Kuroda
Blanton v. TBD

Once the starters do their job, it’s up to the bullpen.

Both teams are hard, home-run hitters.  It’ll be a toughly fought battle to represent the NL in the World Series, and I cannot wait to watch it!!!!!

Don’t forget to watch, 8:22 on FOX….LET’S GO PHILS!!!! :)

congrats!

Congrats to the Rays and the Red Sox for moving on!!!
Both teams played awesome, and showed they were the right ones for the ALCS!
They’ll start their series on Friday, it should be a fun one to watch!!

*Just a daily reminder…*
-Dodgers/Phillies Thursday night at 8:22!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LET’S GO PHILS!!!! :)
